Chicago, IL - From June 12-17, New Home Star hosted its eighth annual Builder Appreciation Week aimed at showcasing gratitude to the firm’s builder partners. Following the past several year’s tradition, the organization placed a strong focus on its Giving Every Moment (GEM) Project, a company-wide volunteer and service program. Team members organized ways to show appreciation to their builder staff and arranged outreach events in their community to give in meaningful ways.
To highlight the importance of social responsibility and the charitable aspect of the initiative, each division was encouraged to organize a volunteer event in their local community. After the event, New Home Star provided financial support to the charities and non-profit organizations in honor of our builder partners.
“Giving in meaningful ways is one of our company’s core values, and a personal value I hold near and dear to my heart,” says New Home Star Founder, David Rice. “The volunteer events and donations our teams participate in year-round are amazing, but the giving spirit really shines through during Builder Appreciation Week. Our appreciation for our partners and employees runs deep, and we are thrilled with the impact we can all make when we come together.”
New Home Star volunteered with and donated to the following charities on behalf of our builder partners:
Allegheny County Parks Foundation
Bags of Love
CAB Food Pantry
Habitat for Humanity
Harvesters of Kansas City
Idaho Humane Society
Jacksonville's Animal Care and Protective Services
LifeCare Alliance
Local Beach
Naperville Humane Society
Second Harvest
Sleep in Heavenly Peace
South Baldwin Literacy Council
The Giving Plate
Union Gospel Mission Men's Shelter
In addition to showing the community support, each division also held an appreciation luncheon and presented construction crew and corporate staff members with treats and gifts throughout the week to display gratitude. “Each and every builder staff member and partner is essential to our organization, and they deserve to be celebrated,” says Vice President of Business Operations, Mary Lindeman. “We look forward to this special week every year that is solely dedicated to thanking them for the hard work they do every day.” Explore the photos and stories from Builder Appreciation Week on our Facebook page.
