New Home Star Ranked #1 in Crain’s Chicago Best Places to Work 2019

By Star Report 2 min read

Chicago, IL - New Home Star, the nation’s leading new home seller based in Elmhurst, Illinois, took first place in Chicago for the large category, and third place overall, in the prestigious Crain’s Best Places to Work award. By joining forces with the Best Companies Group, Crain’s requested more than 26,000 employees in the Chicagoland area to uncover the top 100 companies to work for. Out of 14,000 that responded, the top 100 firms were selected based on employee surveys as well as what kind of benefits packages, training, and company culture they offer team members.

“We only started this company ten years ago but have always made it our top priority to provide excellent careers for our people,” says New Home Star Founder, David Rice. “We are not confused about what makes this company successful— it’s our people. We know we are far from perfect, but we strive to build and maintain an authentic culture that makes this an attractive place for people to spend their whole career with other ambitious team players,” says Rice. “It’s an honor for our entire organization to be recognized with yet another award from Crain’s and the Best Companies Group.” This is the second consecutive year New Home Star has been named one of the Best Places to Work by Crain’s Chicago. The growing firm placed third in the large category and ninth overall last year, moving higher on the list in both areas for the 2019 edition of the award.

“With a vision of building the best new home sales company in the world, we are committed to creating and maintaining a unique and fulfilling professional environment for the employees that make our success possible,” says New Home Star VP of Organizational Development, Keith McKinney. “We will never stop striving for this to be the last interview our people ever go on and the most fulfilling work of their lives; we anticipate the continuation of that and much more!”
